Summary
Situated in the town of Keith, Glen Keith was born of a corn mill, of uncertain age, that was converted into a distillery by Chivas Brothers Limited in 1960. With an unquestionable pedigree, it borders Strathlisla, a distillery responsible for the production of the extremely popular Chivas Regal blend, and owned by the same company.

Distilling started under the name of Glen Keith-Glenlivet. The Glenlivet was dropped when Seagram purchased the distillery in 1978. Originally triple distillation was used, a method traditionally used in the lowlands. This changed to the more convential method in 1970 when the number of still was increased from 3 to 5.

Glen Keith pioneered the use of a micro-processor to control the entire operation. Stills are now heated by steam coils, however this was the first distillery to use gas fired stills.
